The Science of Wax

Elevate Your Production with the Science of Wax.

Westech is dedicated to achieving an increasingly superior understanding of the science of wax, in order to provide even higher quality, more innovative wax products to serve you better.

Wax is of course much more than wax. Our manufacturing processes have used soy, palm, and other vegetable waxes, to paraffins, polymers, hydrocarbons, polyethylene, lanolin, jojoba, carnauba, candelilla, and even old-fashioned beeswax.

Whichever the type, it is crucial to use the very best quality waxes at every stage of the casting process. The characteristics of wax important for successful precision casting include specific melting temperatures, superior surface finish, exceptional flow properties and dimensional consistency. In our in-house laboratory, Westech’s chemists verify these and other important qualities such as hardness, brittleness, color, rheology, elasticity and more. We don’t guess if a wax will work. We have the chemist-tested data.
